Dr Anne Carlyle

Menopause GP

Anne will conduct an initial face to face consultation to take a detailed history, explore and understand your personal presentation of symptoms and your concerns, and confirm your menopausal status.

All aspects of your menopause will be discussed including options available to promote your wellbeing in this stage of life and beyond, safely and individualised to your personal circumstances. A customised treatment plan will be discussed and agreed. This may include a prescription for hormonal or non-hormonal medication, lifestyle advice including dietary and exercise, advice for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy or possibly acupuncture.

A follow up appointment will be encouraged to determine if adjustments or additions need to be made to the plan. Continuity of care can be of great benefit as we get to know you better as an individual. You may also be signposted to other reputable resources to enhance your journey further, including Sonya and Harriet, who can offer invaluable skills and expertise with creating positive lifestyle aspects.

The LEEP (Lifestyle, Education, Exercise and Physiotherapy) service factors in all elements of your menopause journey to help you embrace change. The menopause is your opportunity to take control and choose how you want to restart this new phase in life by upgrading your lifestyle.

This unique service provides you with the expertise of not just one, but two menopause trained clinicians, Sonya and Harriet. Their backgrounds in injury rehabilitation and their menopause specific training, will ensure your care is individualised and effective whilst promoting long term health and wellness. From alleviating your menopause symptoms to improving your strength and fitness, they will be there to support your journey every step of the way.

The initial appointment will consist of taking a detailed history regarding your health followed by some functional movement tests. Harriet and Sonya can then guide you as to how to maximise your health during your menopause journey and which of their services they feel you would benefit from. They are passionate in helping all women thrive from perimenopause through to the post-menopausal years.
